Improvisation Class

Improvisation introduces students to the principles and practice of improvisation through an experiential, process-oriented structure. The course will focus on three major areas: Physical, Vocal, Spatial. Free, structured, and directed improvisations will anchor the course allowing each student to experiment individually and in groups with the possibilities of the body as a complete instrument of expression.

*Develop skills involving the technologies of the body, voice, and space

*Develop awareness of dynamic range

*Free the body and voice from inhibition

*Guide the students’ discovery of movement possibilities in relation to time, space, and effort
